Balkestein Nets First Career Goal - Ipswich Town News
On-loan Town defender Pim Balkestein nodded in his first senior goal on Tuesday evening as Brentford beat Oldham 3-2 at Boundary Park. The Dutchman rose at the far post to head home a David Hunt freekick in the 65th minute.
Balkestein is with the Bees until the end of the season and is weighing up whether to make the move permanent in the summer with the clubs having agreed a fee.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace's 3-1 victory at Watford - with former Town loanee Stern John netting the first - kept the Eagles third from bottom but reduced the gap between themselves and the Blues in 16th to six points.
