The findings of judicial review of the decision to grant permission for Town's new North Stand will now not be known until mid-August. Mr Justice Harrision, ironically a Norwich fan, has decided to withdraw from proceedings because of his workload.
The new judge, Mr Justice Sullivan will hear the case on August 16th and 17th. The new stand could be under threat if the judge decides that proper procedures were not adhered to when the the Borough Council gave planning permission.
Local resident Rose Malster says that the stand will have a severe impact on residents in Alderman Road and that the council was wrong not to consider the new floodlighting, which will be part of a later planning application, at the same time as the stand. The new lights are claimed to cause increased light pollution.
By the time the case comes up the stand will be starting to appear and work would be halted if Malster wins her case. Town are backing the Borough council with both saying that the decision was properly determined.
The club plan to open the new stand for the West Ham, game on October 27th and have said that any delays could cost them around ÂŁ67,500 per game.
