Town Confirm Eastman and Six Others Staying On - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed that Tom Eastman and all six of the other current second-year scholars have been offered professional contracts for next season. TWTD reported that Eastman had been given a one-year deal earlier this afternoon.
In addition to the central defender, full-back Seb Dunbar and midfielders Luke Hyam, Jamie Griffiths and Billy Clark have been offered professional contracts, while Irish duo Ronan Murray, a striker, and David Cawley, a midfielder, had already been guaranteed deals when they joined the academy. We understand that like Eastman they have all been given one-year contracts, aside from Dunbar who has been given a short-term contract until September.
Boss Roy Keane told the club site: "As much as I have brought in players, it's vital that we continue to develop youngsters at this football club."
Eastman is likely to be in the squad for Saturday’s first team game at Nottingham Forest having been on the bench at Derby on Monday.
