Finidi Here Today - Ipswich Town News

Reports this morning say Finidi George will be in town today for a look around and to continue talking terms. It seems everything is sorted between the clubs with the fee quoted as £3 million, £3.5 million and in the Spanish media, which originally broke the story, £3.7 million.

George Burley said of the player's impending arrival: "He still has a couple of things to sort out with his club in Majorca and we are still hopeful he will come over to us today. Everything is agreed with Real Mallorca at our end so it is an on-going situation with Finidi himself. I have spoken to the player who tells me he has spoken to people about Ipswich and has had glowing reports about the club."

Town have quite a few injury worries ahead of the PSV friendly on Saturday. All three new signings could well be missing from the side which meets the Dutch giants.

Tommy Miller has ricked his neck, while Pablo COunago has an ankle problem picked up in the Peterborough game. Andy Marshall has strained his back and will almost certainly be replaced by Keith Branagan.

Likely to be out for the opening League game at Sunderland are Jim Magilton and Mark Venus.

There is better news with a number of players returning for Saturday after knocks, George Burley: "We will have John McGreal, Alun Armstrong and Hermann Hreidarsson fit for Saturday which is obviously good news for us. But it is touch and go with Pablo, Andy and Tom, we will just have to see how it goes."

The injuries to Magilton and Miller may see Nabil Abidallah get a starting opportunity against PSV.
