Central defender Alex Bruce says he is not yet sure about his future as he looks to end the season on a high with loan club Leicester City in the play-offs. Bruce has been at the Walkers Stadium since January.
The former Birmingham man is now recovered from a hernia operation which he hopes has finally got to the root of the recurrent groin problem which has hampered him this season.
Bruce, who has made only two starts and one sub appearance for the Foxes, says he’s currently concentrating on Leicester’s play-off semi-finals against Cardiff: "I feel as right as rain now and am concentrating on helping Leicester into the top flight.
"After that I’m not sure where I stand as I haven’t heard from Ipswich since January. It’s nice to feel wanted and appreciated, and I’m enjoying my time at Leicester.
"If Ipswich want me back next season I shall be proud to pull the shirt back on again as I’ve always had a good relationship with the fans and enjoyed my time there. But if I’m surplus to requirements at Portman Road then I’ll look elsewhere.
"We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but I’ve an Ipswich contract to the summer of 2011 and will enjoy coming back if wanted.”
Meanwhile, further TWTD Swedish football experts have suggested central defender Ragnar Sigurdsson as a possible reason for the Blues’ reported attendance at last week’s IFK Gothenburg-Malmö FF match.
Sigurdsson, 23, is a highly-rated Icelandic full international who plays on the right-side of the centre of defence, where the Blues are short of cover, particularly if Bruce moves on this summer.
Elsewhere, former Town centre-half Chris Swailes, 39, has been released by Blue Square Premier Gateshead.
