Trotter and Millwall in Play-Offs - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Liam Trotter and his Millwall loan side are in the League One play-offs after a 3-2 victory over Swindon on Saturday afternoon. The Lions finished third in the division behind former Blue Richard Naylor’s Leeds, who have been promoted to the Championship in second.

Trotter, who has been offered a new contract by the Blues, will come up against ex-Town team-mates Jordan Rhodes and Gary Roberts when Millwall face Huddersfield in their play-off semi-finals.

Central defender Alex Bruce will also be in play-off action, in the Championship for Leicester, with the Foxes playing Cardiff City at the Walkers Stadium in their first leg on Sunday.

Elsewhere today, Colin Healy couldn’t prevent his Falkirk loan side from being relegated from the SPL, but Ed Upson had a better afternoon, starting his fifth game for Barnet as the Bees avoided relegation from League Two. The released midfielder will hope to be offered a permanent deal at Underhill in the summer.

Kevin Lisbie netted his 13th goal of the season in his final game for League One Colchester having been introduced as a second half sub. The striker, who has another year on his Town deal, netted from the penalty spot in the final minute as the U’s beat Leyton Orient 1-0.

Pim Balkestein missed out on Brentford’s final game of the season having undergone nose surgery earlier in the week as a result of his aerial collision in last week's game against Swindon.

Elsewhere, Grimsby, managed by former Town striker Neil Woods, whose squad includes Nick Colgan and Adam Proudlock, were relegated from the Football League after a 3-0 defeat at Burton Albion.
