Bruce in Play-Off Action - Ipswich Town News

On-loan defender Alex Bruce is likely to be in play-off action this evening when Leicester travel to Cardiff for the second leg of their semi-final (Sky Sports One, 7.30pm). The Bluebirds lead 1-0 from the first game at the Walkers Stadium on Sunday.

Bruce was a surprise inclusion in the Leicester side having recovered from surgery which he hopes has finally sorted his recurring groin injury: "I feel good at the moment, obviously I was frustrated to get the injury when I first came [to Leicester] and then had to have a quick hernia operation.

”I'm pleased to be in the team now, hopefully I can carry on playing alongside Jack Hobbs and I really feel that we can develop a good partnership."

Bruce says his side, who he joined on loan in January, need to have a positive mindset: "If you go in with a defeatist attitude and are negative you'll go away with nothing, but we're all very positive.

"The manager has said to us that it's only 1-0 and we can come back. We'll be doing our utmost to get an early goal on Wednesday night and if we do that it's very much game on."

Bruce, who has another year left on his Town contract, has said he is not sure whether he will be at Portman Road, the Walkers Stadium or elsewhere next season.
