Trotter and Wickham on Winning Sides - Ipswich Town News
Town duo Liam Trotter and Connor Wickham were both involved in victories on Tuesday evening. Trotter’s loan club Millwall defeated Huddersfield 2-0 at the Den in their League One play-off second leg, while Wickham’s England U17 side beat the Czech Republic 3-1 in their first group game at the European U17 Championships.
Millwall’s 2-0 aggregate victory means Trotter will play in the League One play-off final for the second year running, having beaten his current loan club when with Scunthorpe a year ago. Swindon will be the Lions’ opponents at Wembley.
Former Blue Scott Barron was again impressive for Millwall, while Jordan Rhodes and Gary Roberts were in the Huddersfield side.
Wickham was involved in England’s second goal and came close on a number of occasions, in addition to picking up a booking, as the Czech Republic were seen off 3-1 at a virtually empty stadium in Liechtenstein.
The England youngsters now take on Greece on Friday and end their group games when they face Turkey on Monday.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
