Wickham, Smith and Peters in International Action - Ipswich Town News
Connor Wickham and England complete their group games at the European U17s Championships in Liechtenstein this evening with a match against Turkey (Eurosport2 UK, 7pm). Meanwhile, Tommy Smith is set to face Australia in a friendly with New Zealand this morning, while Jaime Peters and Canada are in also friendly action, against Argentina in Buenos Aires.
England’s youngsters are already through to a semi-final on Thursday, having won their first two games against the Czech Republic and Greece. Wickham has scored five goals in 10 games for the England U17s.
Smith will win his second full New Zealand cap when the All Whites face the Australians at the MCG in their first pre-World Cup friendly.
Canada face Venezuela in another friendly on Saturday but Peters, who has previously won 21 caps, scoring one goal, is not in the squad for that game.
