Trotter Completes Wembley Double - Ipswich Town News
Liam Trotter helped Millwall into the Championship as the Lions beat Swindon 1-0 in Saturday afternoon’s League One play-off final at Wembley. Lions skipper Paul Robinson netted the only goal of the game just before half-time.
The 21-year-old Town midfielder was on the winning side in League One’s finale for the second year running having been in the Scunthorpe team which coincidentally beat his current loan side 3-2 last season. Also in the winning Millwall team was former Blue Scott Barron, impressing in an unfamiliar right-back role.
Trotter has been offered a new one-year contract by the Blues but Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has already expressed an interest in signing him permanently, while other clubs, perhaps including former loan side Scunthorpe, may also be in the hunt.
