Trotter to Join Millwall - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Liam Trotter has agreed to join newly-promoted Millwall on a two-year deal. The 21-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of June, spent the second half of the season on loan at the Den, having previously been with the south London club on a similar basis in 2006.

Ipswich-born Trotter, who joined the Blues’ academy from Bury Town’s youth set-up, said: "I'm very excited and extremely happy to be a Millwall. It's great to be playing regularly and winning games, and I'm confident that we can continue to be successful in the Championship.

”We have a very well organised and disciplined squad here. I'm sure we will improve and I believe we are capable of doing more than just hold our own at the higher level."

Town had offered the central midfielder a one-year contract and will be entitled to compensation from the Lions.

Trotter, who was in Town’s 2005 FA Youth Cup-winning side, made 18 starts and eight sub appearances for the Blues, scoring two goals.
