No Big Screen at Portman Road for USA Game - Ipswich Town News

Town will not be showing England's World Cup match against the USA on a big screen on the practice pitch on Saturday. The organisers of the cancelled screening in Chantry Park had contacted the club, who looked into the possibility of hosting the event.

However, Town’s director of communications, Terry Baxter, told the club site that it hasn’t been possible to make the arrangements in time: "We were approached earlier this week to see if Saturday's World Cup screening could be held here on our practice pitch.

"After a number of meetings with the various agencies and authorities involved, and bearing in mind the short time-scale, it has not been possible to organise an event that satisfied all parties in the time available.

"That said, we are not ruling out the possibility that we will look to screen some of England's matches later in the tournament."

The club is hosting corporate events around the three England group games.
