Dublin City 0-5 Town - Ipswich Town News

A Richard Naylor hat-trick completed in the first 49 minutes of the game helped Town to an easy 5-0 win over Dublin City tonight. The flame-haired striker reminded George Burley that he is still around with two first half headers to put Town two-up at half-time.

His third came four minutes after the break when he headed home once again.

Town found the game a bit of a stroll and made a number of second half substitutions. Marcus Stewart replaced Naylor and scored the forth after a one-two with Darren Bent who himself had replaced Alun Armstrong.

The goals were wrapped up by Jermaine Wright, who had replaced Tommy Miller, with the best of the night. The midfielder hit a cracker from distance in the closing stages.

Star on the night were Martijn Reuser who was very entertaining and man of the match. It was a good runout for Town, although non too taxing. Around 500 Town supporters were in attendence.

Team: Salmon, Wilnis, Makin, McGreal, Venus, Brown (Hreidarsson), Miller (Wright), Magilton (Holland), Naylor (Bent), Armstrong (Stewart), Reuser.

Thanks to Johnny Turner for being our man on the spot.
