Leicester Midfielder on Trial - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that Town have taken released Leicester City midfielder Robbie Burns on trial. The 19-year-old failed to play a senior game for the Foxes, but made two 14-minute sub appearances for Tranmere Rovers during a loan spell at Prenton Park during the 2008/09 season.
Milton Keynes-born Burns joined Leicester at 12, where he will have worked with Town first team coach Tony Loughlan, an academy coach with the Foxes until joining his former Nottingham Forest team-mate Roy Keane at Sunderland in 2006.
Meanwhile, Australian youngster Jared Austin spent time on trial with the Blues and Fulham at the end of last season, according to a report in his homeland.
Midfielder Austin, 19, is currently a competitor in Australian reality TV show Football Superstar in which a contract with A-League side the Brisbane Roar is the prize.
