O\'Connor Signs Deal - Ipswich Town News
Left-back Shane O’Connor has put pen to paper on the new contract which was offered to him at the end of last season. The former Liverpool academy player’s new deal is aimed at keeping him at Portman Road until 2012
The 20-year-old broke into the side late last season having joined the Blues after a trial, signing an initial one-year contract.
Cork-born O’Connor said: "Obviously I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to stay at the club.
"The deal was agreed a while back, but it’s good to put my signature on the contract, get that out of the way and now I’m looking forward to helping the team have a good season.
"I really enjoyed last year and was pleased with the progress I made. Now I’ve got to look to build on that this year."
O'Connor made 11 starts and two sub appearances and captained the reserves during the 2009/10 season in which he also suffered from a knee ligament injury.
