Burley After Another Major Target! - Ipswich Town News

Town boss George Burley has said he is after another top name international. With the Finidi George deal due to be completed tomorrow the Town boss is hopeful that the Nigerian and his other target may be available for the Premiership opener with Sunderland.

Burley said of his new target: "No new bid is in yet, but I’m out to get another major deal tied up before we play Sunderland away in the opener on Saturday week. When we get back on Friday I shall be soon heading out again to the continent where I’ll be looking at someone. It is a player who just might be the subject of a bid. Let’s say I am hopeful that something may come of it and I’d like to tie up another deal before the start of the league campaign."

Of Finidi Burley added: "Everything is agreed and I don’t envisage any more problems. I hope that Finidi will be arriving in Ipswich tomorrow to start training."

Town will have to wait on a work permit for the Nigerian international, but this seems a formality.

Sources in Spain once again quote £3.7 million as Finidi's fee.
