Wickham Set for Return at Histon - Ipswich Town News
Striker Connor Wickham is expected to included in the Town squad travelling to Histon for tonight’s second pre-season friendly (KO 7.45pm). The youngster was rested for Tuesday’s game at Newmarket, having been away with the victorious England side at the European U17 Championships earlier in the summer.
Manager Roy Keane is set to take another squad of 22 players with midfielder Luciano Civelli continuing his comeback after 16 months out with a knee ligament injury.
Keane told the club site: "Luca getting back out there was the biggest positive for us at Newmarket and we will be looking to get him more time on the pitch at Histon.”
The Argentinian played for 30 minutes as Town beat Newmarket 9-1 and had a hand in two of the goals. Prices for tonight’s game at the Glassworld Stadium are £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s.
A Town reserve side faces Hadleigh at their Millfield ground on Saturday (KO 3pm). A list of the Blues’ pre-season games can be found here.
