More on Johnson - Ipswich Town News

The reports earlier today that Johnson's international career could still be with Wales have been confirmed once more by FIFA. FIFA's Keith Cooper said "His British passport makes him availabe for all the home nations. The home FAs have different rules on eligibility. Scotland have checked him out and said he's not for them but he could play for the others or Jamaica."

Wales seems the best bet for us, although they won't have a nother competitive game until the qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup which are a year away.

The Johnson controversy has unfortunately re-awakened sad memories for the Town striker. Press reports today revealed that the Town striker's mother was murdered when he was very young. Few details have surfaced, except that he was very young and was either fostered or adopted after his mother's death depending on which report you read. TWTD remember's that Johnson seemed loath to talk about the period when he moved to the UK from Jamaica when we spoke to him nearly two years ago. It is unfortunate that circumstances should mean what he clearly wanted kept private has become public.
