Swansea Refuse to Rule Out Priskin Move - Ipswich Town News

New Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has neither confirmed nor denied reports linking him with Town striker Tamás Priskin. The 23-year-old Hungarian international enjoyed his best spell in English football playing under Rodgers at Watford, earning him last summer’s £1.7 million move to Portman Road.

Asked about the links with Priskin, Rodgers said: "He is a player that I worked with at Watford and he scored a lot of goals for me. He is a talent.

"He is one of a number of players that will be linked with Swansea because of their association with me. He is a good player, but he is an Ipswich player.”

The ex-Reading boss says he will be looking to make signings before the season starts: "I am working on getting some players in. Not many though. There are certain players who fit the type here.

"We have got a really strong squad and, if we keep the players here, which we are confident of doing, then it just needs two or three new faces to brighten up the place. That’s something we are looking at and there are a couple of things bubbling along. Hopefully we can get the result.”

Meanwhile, Town's U18s are in action this evening in their annual fixture against Southwold Town (KO 6.30pm). The friendly will be played on Southwold Common.

Elsewhere, former Blue Billy Clarke will miss the first three months of Blackpool's Premier League season with a knee injury.
