Finidi Arrives to Complete Deal - Ipswich Town News

Finidi George flew in from Spain yesterday to complete the deal which will make him an Ipswich Town player. He will meet with Town manager George Burley as he returns from the Irish tour.

The Town manager said: "Finidi will be down the ground tomorrow as there are one or two things to sort out and we have his work permit to arrange."

It is thought unlikely there will be a press conference today to announce the signing.

Finidi's former Ajax team-mate Martijn Reuser is looking forwar to the Nigerian joining Town: "You always see each other again in football, that's the way it is. I saw him last week here at Ipswich and I could only say good things about

the club. I told him it was a great team and a great club to play for, that I had a great time here and why shouldn't he have a great time here too. He is a great guy and a big personality in the dressing room. He has got fantastic pace and technique and is a quality crosser - the complete

football player. At Ajax I played with him a few times. He was on the right and I was on the left. He has been in the Nigerian team for years now and I am sure he will add some new qualities to our side."
