Wickham to Miss Start of Season - Ipswich Town News
Striker Connor Wickham injured is ankle in training yesterday and will be out for six weeks. Reports of the England U17 international suffering the knock first surfaced on the TWTD Message Board last night.
The 17-year-old is understood to have left Playford Road with a cast on his ankle and is not expected to play for the Blues until September.
Wickham’s absence leaves Town short on attacking options with Jon Stead expected to be joining Bristol City, Kevin Lisbie also likely to be on his way, Pablo Couñago out of favour and Tamás Priskin continuing to misfire in pre-season.
