Bruce Makes Shock Leeds Switch - Ipswich Town News
Town defender Alex Bruce is to make a shock switch to newly-promoted Championship side Leeds United. The Republic of Ireland international had been due to join Sheffield United but the deal stalled after the Blues and Blades were unable to agree a fee.
Bruce, who watched last night’s friendly at Leiston, agreed personal terms at Sheffield United at the weekend and had been expected to complete the move early this week until the stalemate regarding the fee.
Leeds have now offered the Blues the £200,000 rising to £300,000 on appearances that they are after for the 25-year-old, who will undergo a medical in West Yorkshire tomorrow morning before formally joining ex-team-mate Richard Naylor at Elland Road.
