Keane Closing in On Loan Signings - Ipswich Town News

Boss Roy Keane says the Blues could make a couple of loan signings by the end of the week. The Town manager says there have been no new developments on Stoke target Jon Walters’s situation.

Keane expects to hear news on his current targets later in the week: "Not tonight, but we’re hopefully pretty close with one or two loan deals maybe to come in on Thursday or Friday, but we’ll hear more on that on Wednesday. I have to say I was very much focusing on the game tonight.”

The Blues boss says there has been no progress on interest in skipper Jon Walters, who missed the Exeter game: "Not that I’m aware of. Jon reported this morning that he wasn’t well and we had to get on and we were obviously one short on the bench because we’d finalised the squad. But Chuck Norris took over and his captaincy was outstanding tonight.”

Stoke are understood to be the frontrunners for Walters’s signature with QPR and other clubs also interested.
