Walters Stripped of Captaincy - Ipswich Town News

Wantaway wideman Jon Walters is understood to have been stripped of the captaincy and dropped for Saturday’s first home game of the season against Burnley. Boss Roy Keane hinted that the midfielder or striker, who is interesting Stoke and another Premier League club, might not be his captain this weekend at Thursday’s press conference.

Keane hit out at Walters for asking for a move, adding that his status as captain was likely to be in jeopardy when asked if he remained in possession of the armband: "He is today, but football changes on a daily basis.”

Midfielder David Norris was praised by Keane for his performance as skipper at Exeter on Tuesday and will take the armband against the Clarets.
