West Brom Linked With Walters Swap - Ipswich Town News

West Brom striker Luke Moore is reported to have been offered to the Blues as part of a swap deal involving Jon Walters. On Thursday, Roy Keane said that Stoke were the frontrunners for the former skipper’s signature, but that another Premier League club was also showing interest.

Moore, 24, came through the youth ranks at Aston Villa, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2001/02 and making 41 senior starts and 57 sub appearances after making his Premier League debut in 2004. While at Villa Moore went out on loan to Wycombe Wanderers and then West Brom.

The former England U21 international made his switch to the Hawthorns permanent in May 2008 for a fee of £3 million.

Moore, whose brother Stefan also came through the ranks at Villa and is now at Halesowen Town, made 25 starts and four sub appearances during the Baggies’ promotion campaign last season, scoring four times.

Town are certainly in the market for additional strikers with Walters set to leave. Negotiations with Wigan's Jason Scotland continue, while the Blues have also targeted Cardiff's Ross McCormack, although Keane said on Thursday that that deal, which could have involved Jon Stead moving to the Bluebirds, was less likely to go through.
