Six Away on International Duty - Ipswich Town News

Town have six players away from Portman Road during the two-week international break. Striker Tamás Priskin and keeper Márton Fülöp left the ground to travel to join up with the Hungary squad for their Euro 2012 qualifiers straight after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Bristol City.

The Hungarians face Sweden away on Friday, then Moldova at home on the following Tuesday. Fülöp has won 21 full caps, while Priskin has played for his country 27 times, netting seven international goals.

Jaime Peters will be with the Canada squad, who play friendlies with Peru next Saturday in Toronto and Honduras next Tuesday in Montreal. Peters, 23, has previously won 22 full caps and has scored one international goal.

Central defensive linchpin Gareth McAuley is away with Northern Ireland for their Euro 2012 qualifier in Slovenia on Friday, having again been watched by his international boss Nigel Worthington at the weekend.

McAuley, who usually plays at right-back for Worthington's side, has previously won 22 caps, scoring one goal. Former Town loanee David Healy is also in the travelling party.

Current loan signing Darren O’Dea is with the Republic of Ireland squad for their qualifiers in Armenia on Friday and against Andorra at home on the Tuesday. The Celtic man has previously won two full caps.

New midfielder Conor Hourihane is with the Irish U21s for the final matches of their 2011 UEFA European Championships qualifying campaign. The Irish youngsters face Switzerland on Friday and then Turkey on the following Tuesday, both away.

Hourihane recently made his debut for the U21s in the 5-0 victory over Estonia, claiming a goal. The Irish youngsters have no chance of progressing to the finals.
