Town to Make McPhail Move Today? - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Roy Keane will look to try and complete the signing of Cardiff’s Stephen McPhail before the transfer window closes later today, according to a report in Wales. McPhail was first mentioned in connection with the Blues early this month and again yesterday.
Keane said over the weekend that new additions were unlikely before the window closed but has also indicated that he is looking to make three loan signings, amongst them a midfielder.
McPhail, who has only a year remaining on his Cardiff contract, is well-known to Keane, the two having played together with Ireland .
The 30-year-old is fit again having undergone a cartilage operation earlier in the summer and was amongst Cardiff’s subs as they won 2-0 at Portsmouth at the weekend.
The transfer window closes at 6pm today, but Football League clubs can make 'emergency' loan signings from next week.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
