Carling Cup Date Set - Ipswich Town News

Millwall have confirmed that Town’s Carling Cup third round tie at the Den will take place on Tuesday 21st September (KO 7.45pm). The draw is the Blues’ fifth successive game away from home in the competition, the eighth in both cups and the seventh since Roy Keane took over as boss.

Midfielder Liam Trotter moved to the Den from Portman Road during the summer, while striker Kevin Lisbie, who is on loan with the Lions for the season, is unable to play against his parent club under the terms of the deal. Another former Blue, full-back or midfielder Scott Barron, signed a new three-year-deal with Kenny Jackett's club last week.

The teams last met in the Carling Cup at the second round stage in 2000/01, the Londoners winning the first leg 2-0 at the Den before Town went through after a 5-0 victory at Portman Road, three of those goals coming in extra time after the Lions had been reduced to nine men.
