Colback Linked Again - Ipswich Town News

Town are again being linked with a move to bring Jack Colback back to Portman Road on loan. The 20-year-old Sunderland midfielder spent last season with the Blues and made a huge impression, either winning or finishing in the top three in all the player of the year awards.

Colback returned to the Stadium of Light for the final day of 2009/10, picking up a red card on his Premier League debut for the Black Cats.

After serving a one-match ban, Colback has been on the bench for all Sunderland’s games so far this season, but so far has made only one more appearance, in the Carling Cup victory over Colchester United.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has previously said that Colback will be part of his first team squad this season, however, Roy Keane’s one-time Manchester United team-mate said much the same about striker Martyn Waghorn, who he recently allowed to move to Leicester City on a permanent basis.

Towards the end of last season Keane, who is currently on the lookout for more loan signings, said he would be interested in Colback returning but didn’t expect him to become available.
