Keane: No Loanee This Week - Ipswich Town News

Town manager Roy Keane says the Blues are still to land their Premier League loan target but that he hopes the signing will be completed next week.

Keane said: "No luck so far. Nothing’s gone wrong, we always knew it was going to be tough to get the deal done and that’s how it’s proving to be.

"I’m not really involved in the negotiations, the two clubs are and we just need to focus on the players who are available for the weekend.”

Keane is hopeful that his target will arrive at Portman Road next week: "I still think it will happen, but we’re now maybe looking at next week.

"That’s the way it is when you’re negotiating with a club, they might have injury problems and they might want to cover themselves for a couple of weeks, which I understand. Clubs have lots of games and it’s no problem.

"We’re dead relaxed about it, we’d like to get one or two in as I still think we’re short, but I’d rather wait another week to wait for the player I want.”

Keane says defender Darren O’Dea is a big doubt for Saturday’s game against Cardiff due to his knee injury.
