Duo Win Northern Ireland Caps - Ipswich Town News
Academy duo Josh Carson (pictured) and Caolan Lavery won Northern Ireland U19 caps as their side drew 0-0 with Switzerland in the opening game of their European Championships qualifying group in Germany this afternoon.
Midfielder Carson, who was on the bench for the Carling Cup tie at Exeter earlier in the season, played the full 90 minutes, while Lavery, who recently opted to play for Northern Ireland rather than Canada, the country of his birth and with whom he had previously won caps, was subbed on 59. Town defender Rory McKeown was an unused sub.
The Northern Ireland youngsters face hosts Germany on Sunday and then Andorra on Wednesday.
