Midfielder Carlos Edwards is hoping for another home tie when the Carling Cup quarter-final draw is made on Saturday. The Trinidadian netted Town’s first goal in Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Northampton.
Edwards told the club site that the Blues have already had enough away games in the competition this season: "We will take on whoever comes along, but it would be great to be at home again.
"We've had our fair share of away matches and it would be good for the fans not to have to travel. Maybe one of the big boys at home would be nice."
Meanwhile, Grant Leadbitter, who picked up a knee problem in Tuesday’s match, says he’s only concentrating on Saturday’s league game against Millwall: "It’s good to be in the last eight, but we need to win on Saturday and forget about the Cup.
"The next round is not until December, so this weekend’s Cup draw does not bother me. I will not be worrying about the draw; we have other things to worry about. We need to beat Millwall, so I won’t even be watching the draw.”
Town are number four in the draw, which will be held during Sky’s Soccer Saturday from 12.20pm. Full draw details here.
Meanwhile, next Wednesday’s home reserve game against Luton has been postponed due to the Hatters’ involvement in the FA Youth Cup. No new date has yet been set.
