Wickham Nets as Reserves Lose at Spurs - Ipswich Town News
Connor Wickham found the net for the first time in a Town shirt this season but couldn’t prevent the reserves from falling to a 4-1 defeat in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Spurs this afternoon. Wickham's goal will give manager Roy Keane something to think about ahead of his goal-shy side's trip to Norwich for Sunday's East Anglian derby.
The England U21 international put the Blues ahead with a left-foot shot in the first half but the home side struck four times after the break through Cameron Lancaster, Massimo Luongo, Simon Dawkins and a late Harry Kane penalty.
Midfielder Alan Quinn made his return after his groin injury, coming on at half-time, while Colin Healy was also back after his recent hamstring and groin problems.
Shane O'Connor, Jaime Peters, Troy Brown, Arran Lee-Barrett, David Cawley and Ronan Murray were also in the side. Former Town loanee Giovani Dos Santos played the first half for Tottenham.
Reserves: Lee-Barrett, Cawley, Dunbar, Healy, McKeown, Brown, Peters, Lambe, Wickham, Murray and O'Connor. Subs: Hourihane, McLoughlin, Clark and Quinn.
