Town Make Move for Plymouth Striker - Ipswich Town News
Town are closing in on a loan move for Plymouth striker Rory Fallon, according to reports in the South-West. The 28-year-old is a New Zealand team-mate of Blues defender Tommy Smith.
Fallon played youth football with North Shore United in his home country before joining Barnsley as a 17-year-old. The 6ft 3in tall frontman has subsequently played for Shrewsbury (loan), Swindon, Yeovil (loan) and Swansea before signing for the Pilgrims for £300,000 in January 2007.
The one-time England U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 international target man - he reverted to playing for New Zealand in 2009 - has scored 19 goals in 84 starts and 57 sub appearances for Argyle.
For New Zealand he has scored three goals in 10 games and played in all three matches at the World Cup in South Africa, having netted the goal which secured qualification via a 1-0 play-off second leg victory over Bahrain.
Town and Plymouth are believed in talks with 5pm today the deadline for Championship clubs to make loan signings.
