Town have announced their squad for tomorrow's game with Tranmere and it includes both Sieb Dykstra and Gary Croft. Dykstra has signed temporarily as cover for the injured Mike Salmon who still hopes to recover to make his debut in goal for Town. If he fails to make it then James Pullen will be called into the squad once again. Croft must be seen as a doubt as his court case is tomorrow morning and many see this as restricting his availability for some games to come.
Town welcome back Jim Magilton after suspension and may have James Scowcroft and David Johnson returning to their line-up. Matt Holland is considered very unlikely to start thus causing him to miss his first game since joining Town and breaking his appearence record.
The full squad is: Salmon, Dykstra, Wilnis, Clapham, Croft, Stockwell, Mowbray, McGreal, Venus, Thetis, Holland, J Wright, Magilton, Scowcroft, Johnson, Naylor, Axeldal, Brown and Holster.
ITFC's Scandinavian fans have provided us with some info on Town's latest trialist, Miikka Multaharju, and on Town's Swedish summer target Andreas Jakobsson.
Multaharju who played for the reserves earlier in the week is a 22-year-old midfielder/defender. According to our correspondent Miikka Kirjavainen, Multiharju has "been a regular in our U21-team... he's quick and clearly has skill, he works hard and never gives up - great attitude.
"Anyway he's still quite inexperienced and is not a 'finished product' yet, he seems to get a bit nervous at times. But he might be a good replacement for Stockwell in a few years time." Stockwell, of course, having ten good years in him yet.
Meanwhile in Sweden Town have apparently renewed their interest in Andreas Jakobsson. Back in August, you'll remember, the player turned down the chance to join Town as his wife was pregnant.
However, she has now given birth and Andreas and his family feel that the time is right for a move to England. According to our Swedish correspondent Torbjorn Vide Town have been in contact with his club, Helsingborgs, and a ÂŁ1.1 million deal could be on the cards.
Scotland appear to have belatedly caught up with everyone else regarding the FIFA ruling on David Johnson's international availability.
If you can be bothered to think back to last week, Scotland decided he wasn't eligible to play for them after all because his mother was English. The next day everyone else (the Welsh, FIFA etc) decided he was available for all four home nations (see NewsNet last week) regardless of where his mother was born.
Today Scotland are reported as renewing their interest and are claiming that they didn't make a cock-up whatsoever at all. Apparently the document they referred to which made them think Johnson was ineligible wasn't ratified by FIFA. How much longer will this drag on?
