Reserves Beat Palace - Ipswich Town News

Town’s reserves beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in a behind closed doors friendly at Playford Road yesterday. Colin Healy and Tamás Priskin netted the goals.

The Blues, who netted a goal in either half, fielded a mixture of youth and experience with the likes of Healy, Priskin, who is being targeted by Swansea, and Luciano Civelli joined by Reggie Lambe, Conor Hourihane, Ronan Murray, Jack Ainsley and academy youngsters Joe Whight and Josh Meekings.

The Palace side included defender Claude Davis, red-carded against Town in the league fixture at Selhurst Park earlier in the season.

Chris Kiwomya’s second string’s next scheduled Totesport.com Football Combination East Division match isn’t until February 9th when they travel to face Oxford United. Town currently sit bottom of the table.

Reserves: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Whight, Hourihane (Cawley 80), Meekings, Eastman, Clark (Lambe 46), Healy (c), Murray, Priskin and Civelli. Unused: McLoughlin.

Milutin Osmajic’s 11th-minute penalty saw Preston North End to a 1-0 victory over the Blues at Deepdale. Jacob Greaves was adjudged to have fouled the Lilywhites striker with Town subsequently dominating possession while unable to take the handful of chances they created.
