Burley on Gaardsoe - Ipswich Town News
George Burley has commented on Town's bid for AaB Aalborg defender midfielder Thomas Gaardsoe. Town have bid £1 million for the Danish U21 international, but the Danes are after £1.3 million for one of Denmark's most promising players.
Aalborg, who also boast Chris Kiwomya amongst their players, confirmed that Town have expressed serious interest in Gaardsoe on Sunday. George Burley admitted the Blues interest: "We are having talks with Aalborg but as yet nothing definite has been finalised. We are hoping to bring in a new player this week, it is something we are working hard on."
Gaardsoe was watched by Town playing for the Danish U21 side in June against Malta and he clearly impressed. Town representatives were reported to have watched him again on Sunday as his side beat Vejle 3-1.
Although beginning his career as a midfielder he is now primarilty seen as a central defender.
