Kiwomya and Other Staff Set to Stay - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Paul Jewell says most of the existing backroom staff will be kept on at Portman Road under his regime, for the time being at least. Reserves coach Chris Kiwomya, goalkeeping-coach Jim Hollman and fitness coaches Antonio Gomez and Simon Thadani are set to remain with the club.
Jewell has added his former Bradford strike partner Sean McCarthy to his coaching staff, while his long-time associate Chris Hutchings is expected to join the club this week.
Roy Keane's coaches Tony Loughlan and Charlie McParland left Town on Thursday, but for the rest of the staff will stay on with Kiwomya with the new boss and the squad at the Den today: "Chris is here at the moment. He’s travelling with us to Millwall.
"That’s an ongoing situation. I’ve spoken to all the staff and I’ve told them the situation that as things go, we’ll see. They might not like me! I can’t see that happening, but you never know!
"I don’t see that as a problem and if something’s going to happen it will happen properly. I don’t want people looking over their shoulders.
"We’re starting a new slate. Other changes were made before I got here, the decisions were made before I got here, now it’s up to me to see how it goes. Hopefully, we’ll get a few results and getting a few points on the board.”
