Gaardsoe Quotes - Ipswich Town News
Town have completed the signing of Dane Thomas Gaardsoe for an undisclosed fee thought to be between £1m and £1.3m. Gaardsoe is a central defender or midfielder, although George Burley sees him more as a defender.
Burley said: "Thomas is a young player who has played at all levels for Denmark and has great potential for the future. I'm sure he will come here, work hard and aim to get into the first team as soon as he can, and show in the next few years what a great player he can be, and go on to play at full international level."
Gaardsoe, given the number 36 shirt, said: "We see a lot of English football in Denmark and have heard good things about it. We have a lot of Danish players in England and they all say it is a good challenge, and I feel ready to take this step".
The Dane, 21, consulted with team-mate Chris Kiwomya before deciding to leave Aalborg for Town. Although at Portman Road today he is off to join his international team-mates later today as the Danish U21s take on Northern Ireland and Bulgaria.
