Drury Confirms Luton Exit Imminent - Ipswich Town News
Luton midfielder Andy Drury has confirmed that he expects to leave Luton for the Championship this week but says he’s not yet sure which club he will be joining. Town are believed to be the frontrunners for the 27-year-old’s signature but Coventry and Sheffield United have also been linked.
Speaking after the Hatters’ 1-0 Blue Square Bet Premier victory over Grimsby at Kenilworth Road last night, Drury said he thought it was probably his last game for the Bedfordshire club: "I think so, but you never know in football.”
Asked directly whether Town was his destination the former Sittingbourne, Lewes and Stevenage man said: "I’m not too sure which club, but we’ll see what the rest of the week brings. I’ve loved my time here at Luton, it’s been a great six months for me.
"I’m looking forward to it, a bit gutted I’m not finishing the job with Luton but it’s something I can’t turn down, so I’m looking forward to it now.”
Drury is understood to have a clause in his contract which means that he can move on if the Hatters receive an offer of £150,000.
