Bullard Looking Forward to Getting Back into Action After Injuries - Ipswich Town News

Loan signing Jimmy Bullard says he’s looking forward to getting back into action after spending much of the last couple of seasons out injured. Knee injuries have limited him to only 24 appearances since his £5 million switch from Fulham to Hull in January 2009.

Bullard, who is with the Blues until the end of the season, says he’s currently feeling fine and can’t wait to get back in action: "I feel as fit as ever, I’ve been training now for a long while. I’ve not played the games but I’ve been training and I’m ready to go.

"I’m just looking forward to getting out there and playing some footie, I’ve missed it. I just want to get out there. I’m fed up with bloody watching!”

The 32-year-old says the last few years have been disrupted by often long spells on the sidelines: "With my first injury I was out for 18 months, then after my first game at Hull I was out of the game for nine months, then three months.

"I’ve been in and out. I’ve not had a good run of football. I think the longest run of games I’ve played at Hull is 11, which is terrible really.

"But I couldn’t affect that, I got injured and it’s about getting fit now and playing some football. It’s about getting out there and playing football, that’s what I love doing, that’s what I want to do.”

The one-time England call-up is understood to be on a £45,000 weekly wage at Hull with Town sources insisting that the Blues are paying a share nearer to the £10,000-a-week initially reported rather than the 40% claimed by Hull’s head of football operations Adam Pearson.

Bullard doesn’t rule out the possibility of his Town move eventually becoming permanent, bringing to an end his spell at the KC Stadium: "I’ve still got two years there, I signed a four-and-a-half-year contract which I’m grateful for, and it’s a great club.

"But in football things don’t always work out as you want them to. It’s the first time in my career, but you get on with it.”

Bullard looks set to make his Town debut when the Blues travel to Derby next Tuesday.
