Club Plan Tribute for Fan - Ipswich Town News

David Sheepshanks has said that the club will pay tribute to a fan who died in a fire earlier in the week. Rob Giles, 18 and friend William Stokes, 19 were both killed as fire swept through Giles' Felixstowe home.

Giles was a member of local band Boot 50 and had written a song inspired by Town's success entitles There Are The Days. They had hoped to perform this at Portman Road.

Sheepshanks said: "I was very, very sad to hear of this tragedy and, if the other members of the band get in touch with the club, we will endeavour to do something appropriate in his memory."

Last night saw the UEFA Cup reunion at Portman Road with many of the stars of 81 present. Paul Mariner flew in from Arizona especially while Paul Cooper came in from Tenerife where these days he works in golf.

John Wark will tell you all about it in next week's column which will appear later than usual due to holiday commitments.

Supporters who park on the grass verges in Birkfield Drive and by the river in West End Road are being told not to. According tothe police fans should find safe and legal parking elswhere.

At the last home game 190 parking tickets were issiedd to fans parking in this area.
