Hair Raising Fundraising at Portman Road - Ipswich Town News

Town are supporting the Sue Ryder Febru-hairy campaign by encouraging supporters to be creative with their hairstyles when the Blues take on Sheffield United at Portman Road on Saturday. Sue Ryder — The Chantry is one of the club’s nominated charities this season.

The healthcare charity is calling on people in Suffolk to take on hair-related fundraising challenges throughout February to raise vital funds for its care centre in Ipswich, while staff and volunteers at Sue Ryder - The Chantry will be around Portman Road holding a bucket collection.

Town have given the charity two tickets to the East Anglian derby against Norwich on Thursday 21st April as a prize for the wildest hairstyle at Saturday’s match.

To enter, fans should take a photo of themselves at the stadium on the day with something distinctively Portman Road in the background and then upload it onto the Sue Ryder - The Chantry Facebook page. Sue Ryder will pick one winner from the entries.

The Febru-hairy campaign is running throughout the month and the Sue Ryder fundraising team at The Chantry can offer lots of information and support to help promote any hair-raising activities (01473 295200).

All money raised from the collection and Febru-hairy will help Sue Ryder continue to provide quality care for people living with end of life and long-term conditions including cancer, stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and motor neurone disease.

Town skipper David Norris said: "The Sue Ryder - The Chantry Febru-hairy campaign is a fun way for everyone to get involved and support the important work this local charity does."

Melissa Collett at Sue Ryder - The Chantry added: "It promises to be great afternoon for the whole family, with something to appeal to everybody. By coming along to the game with a crazy hairstyle and supporting Sue Ryder in this way, local people can help us raise much needed money that will go directly to help the hundreds of people we care for each year."
