Quinn Undergoes Surgery - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Alan Quinn is facing at least another three or four weeks on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on the groin injury which has kept him out of action for the entire season so far. The 31-year-old, who is out of contract in June, suffered what initially appeared to be a minor problem in the pre-season friendly at Leiston in July.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "Alan Quinn has gone in for another operation on his groin today which will probably keep him out of action for a three to four weeks, which is unfortunate for Alan. But other than keeper Brian Murphy [ankle] we’re OK.
"It’s amazing that when you’re winning games you don’t get any injuries! There are one or two knocks and bruises because we’ve had a few games lately but nothing serious.”
Jewell and his team were spotted taking a walk to a café local to the club’s Playford Road training ground this morning ahead of Saturday's home game against Quinn's old club Sheffield United.
