Carson Called Up - Ipswich Town News

Academy midfielder Josh Carson has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for their friendly with Wales at Wrexham next Wednesday.

Carson, who has previously won one U21 cap, is likely to come up against fellow Blue Troy Brown, who is in the Wales squad.

Town’s other Northern Ireland U21 international, striker Caolan Lavery, is currently sidelined with the knee ligament injury he suffered in the FA Youth Cup defeat to Peterborough in November.

Elsewhere, loanee defender Darren O’Dea has been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland full squad for next Tuesday's Carling Nations Cup match, also against a Welsh side. A provisional squad was announced last month.
