Town boss Paul Jewell says Carlos Edwards is currently his best option at right-back. The Trinidadian has played much of his football on the wing in recent years having taken a more defensive role earlier in his career and for his national side.
Jewell said: "Carlos has played there. I remember watching him a long time ago for Wrexham playing at wing-back and I know he’s played there for Trinidad.
"At the moment he’s our best option. Jaime did very well against Arsenal in the first leg, but I can see he’s not really a natural right-back, as Carlos isn’t, truth be known.
"He’s a good athlete and he’s done OK in there. We’re trying to teach him a little bit more about playing at right-back as it’s a bit strange to him, but at the moment he’s doing OK.”
Meanwhile, Jewell says that while loan signing Jimmy Bullard is a great presence in the dressing room, his footballing ability was the main reason he brought him in: "I think first and foremost it’s most important that you can play.
"If I brought Coco the Clown in he’d probably liven the dressing room up, but he wouldn’t be able to play. That’s not to say I’m comparing Jimmy with Coco the Clown, I wouldn’t do that to Coco the Clown!
"I think it’s important that you’re able to produce on the pitch. Jimmy’s a bubbly character. I worked with him at Wigan and, as I said before, he could probably get up, play golf to scratch, train in the morning, go fishing and play a game of football at night.
"He will have an influence on the pitch, that’s the most important thing. He loves his football and he enjoys it. He’s not a quiet character. It’s quite a quiet dressing room really.”
