Wickham Fine to Face QPR - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Jewell says he expects striker Connor Wickham to be fine for Tuesday’s trip to QPR despite turning his ankle in the second half of the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Hull City on Saturday.

Jewell said: "Connor went over on his ankle, but he’s fine. He was in yesterday and we trained this morning, so he’ll be fine.”

Skipper David Norris will again miss out and is unlikely to be fit for Saturday’s visit by Portsmouth: "I spoke to him before I came down here and I think he’s definitely struggling for tomorrow.

"He’s not too bad, he’s just got a little bit of a problem with his ankle, his knee's fine, but his ankle’s giving him more of a problem. I would think Saturday might be a bit tight.”

The Blues have no new injuries, although full-back or midfielder Shane O’Connor is not yet ready to return to the squad after his bout of appendicitis.

Keeper Brian Murphy is likely to be back in around a month after his broken ankle, while midfielder Alan Quinn is continuing his recovery after his second operation on the groin problem which has sidelined him for the entire season.

The Blues boss is likely to make one change to his team with Jimmy Bullard expected to return, probably for Saturday's full debutant Andy Drury.
