Kenya Presentation Prior to Portsmouth Clash - Ipswich Town News

Fans interested in taking part in the ITFC Charitable Trust’s Kenya trip are invited to attend a presentation at Portman Road prior to Saturday’s home game against Portsmouth. The ITFC Charitable Trust has teamed up with Kenyan Adventure to offer fans the chance to volunteer in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya for 10 days in October 2011 (Sunday 9th - Thursday 20th).

There are a range of projects for 30 participants, from teaching in schools and community work with children to multi-sport and football coaching.

A three-part adventure day is also included in the trip, which will see volunteers embark on a game drive in the Lake Nakuru national safari park and stop off at the equator before rounding the day off at Thomson Falls, one east Africa’s deepest waterfalls.

Those wishing to take part are asked to raise £1,995 with £650 directly donated to the ITFC Charitable Trust (£812.50 donation including a GiftAid claim). The remainder covers the cost of the trip. Two Town season tickets will be available to the person who raises the most money over £2500.

The aim is to raise £25,000 for the ITFC Charitable Trust, which will go directly to new and existing sports and educational projects in the local area.

Saturday's presentation starts at 1.30pm with the meeting point at the main gate from where you will be escorted into the stadium. The club are asking those interested in attending to let them know beforehand if possible on 0845 8621381 or via enquiries@itfc.co.uk but it’s also OK just turn up on the day.
