Search for Loanees Continues - Ipswich Town News

Boss Paul Jewell says he’s still looking to add loan signings to his squad but so far has been out of luck. The Town manager is also continuing to try to find loan clubs for his youngsters with Irish keeper Ian McLoughlin already at League Two Stockport for a month.

Jewell said: "We’re still trying to bring one or two in, but these things aren’t happening for us at the moment

"I’m not looking to get any of the senior players out but I’d like to get some young players out on loan.”

Aston Villa right-back Habib Beye and West Brom striker Simon Cox are amongst those to have opting against loan moves to Portman Road. Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso continues to be linked with the Blues despite Jewell denying making an enquiry regarding the 20-year-old [who has subsequently joined Burnley ].

The Town manager says that the Blues are keeping a close eye on 19-year-old McLoughlin’s progress at Edgely Park: "We’ve watched him twice, I was just talking to the goalkeeping coach about him just now. They played at Cheltenham and they won 2-1 against Oxford on Saturday, we were just watching the goals on TV.

"I like young players to go out on loan because for a month they go away and play in tough leagues and against tough men and they can learn more about themselves in a month than they can here in the same time.

"I’d like to get as many young players as I possibly can out on loan to make them realise what it’s like out there.”
