Murray Nets Winner for Torquay - Ipswich Town News
Town striker Ronan Murray netted the first goal of his loan spell at Torquay as the Gulls beat Cheltenham 2-1 at Plainmoor this evening. The Irishman slotted home what proved to be the winning goal with 20 minutes remaining as he made his third start for the club he is with until the end of the season.
Murray, 19, now joins up with the Republic of Ireland U21s ahead of Friday’s friendly in Portugal, along with Town team-mates Shane O’Connor and Ian McLoughlin, who is currently on loan at Stockport.
Defender Tommy Smith missed out on his loan club Colchester‘s 1-0 home victory over Oldham as he is already away with New Zealand for their friendly in China. The All Whites have pulled out of a planned game in Japan.
